Direct seed outdoors when soil temp reaches 65°F, 1/2-3/4" deep, 4" apart, thin to 2' apart. If start indoors use pots or soil blocks so roots are not disturbed when put out. Warm weather crop, cover with row cover when weather is cool. Melons require rich soil and do well in hills of rotted manure.
