This treasured European heirloom romaine dates back to the 1880‘s. Sweet, flavorful, broad, crisp green leaves with red tips. Very attractive. Produces large heads and is slow to bolt. Does well in cool weather.
Cool season crop. Direct seed outside when soil can be worked in spring, soil temperature 35-45 ℉. Plant 1/4" deep, 2" apart, thin when leaves touch.
