Planting Instructions
Tips
This elegant plant grows to 5ft tall with delicate feathery foliage. Use the leaves to flavor salads, stews, soups and breads. Collect the seeds for pickling or to add a caraway-like flavor to baked goods. Rich in vitamins, minerals and therapeutic essential oils, herbalists have recommended dill for centuries.
Dill is easy to grow. Direct seed outdoors in May, 1/4-in deep and 2-in apart. Thin to 8-in apart as the plants crowd. Dill does self-seed and is one of those plants that need only be planted once.
