This productive heirloom grey-green cucumber is actually related to the muskmelon and well deserves its Latin name "Cucumis melo". Although it can grow quite large, it does not get bitter; it is aromatic and has a mild and delicious flavor. No need to peel. Excellent salad cucumber, and pickles well. Best tasting fruit are about 12” in length.
Direct seed this warm season crop outdoors when soil is warm and well past danger of frost (~70℉). Plant 1/2" deep, 2" apart, thin to 6-12" apart. Can be started indoors, provided roots are not disturbed during transplanting.
