This heirloom from the 1890’s just might be our favorite. Cylindrical 1-2 lb fruit, with cream-colored, green striped edible skin and dark sweet meat inside with a buttery nut flavor. Plus, it’s a great storage squash.

Direct sow outside after last frost, when soil temp is at least 60°F Plant in rows 1" deep, 3" apart, thin to 4' apart; or plant in hills 6 seeds per hill, thinning to 3 plants per hill. Can be started indoors, provided roots are not disturbed during transplanting.
