A blend of our favorite heirloom lettuces. These varieties do well in cool weather, mature within ten days of each other and provide a delightful mix of greens and reds, leaf shapes and flavors, all of which make for beautiful and tasty salads. "Cut and come again" greens, so you can harvest them continually. There’s a reason why these seeds have been treasured through generations!
Cool season crop. Direct seed outside when soil can be worked in spring, soil temperature 35-45 ℉. Plant 1/4" deep, 2" apart, thin when leaves touch. Succession sow every two weeks through the cool part of the season.
lettuces are shallow-rooted plants that like rich soil and plenty of moisture
stagger plantings by 2 weeks for a steady supply
as summer approaches plant smaller amounts more often in shade or on north side of tall plants like sunflowers
