This heirloom variety dates from 1887 and is still an excellent cabbage. Makes an delicious winter green as it keeps well without splitting and lasts through winter into spring. Heads are about 7 lbs, round and blue-green. Excellent in stir-fries, cole slaw & sauerkraut.
Start seeds indoors about 8 weeks before last frost; keep at 50-70℉ for at least 5 weeks. Plant seeds 1/4” deep, and thin to about 20” apart. For fall harvests direct sow in early June.
